Terms & Booking Policies

Last updated: 27th May 2026

This page sets out the terms on which courses, coaching, and other services are offered through this website.

About

This website is operated by Sarah O’Toole, based in Galway, Ireland. Services offered include acting and playwriting courses, somatic coaching, script editing, and freelance directing. For enquiries, contact sarahotoole@pm.me.

Booking & Cancellations

Full payment secures your place on the course. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cancellations by you:

  • More than 14 days before the course start date: full refund, less a €15 administration fee.

  • Between 14 and 7 days before the course start date: 50% refund.

  • Less than 7 days before the course start date, or after the course has begun: no refund.

In exceptional circumstances — serious illness, bereavement, or other significant unforeseen events — a credit toward a future course may be offered at the tutor's discretion. This is a goodwill arrangement, not an entitlement.

Cancellations by us:

If the course is cancelled before it begins (for example, due to insufficient enrolment or tutor illness), you will receive a full refund. If a class is cancelled mid-course and cannot be rescheduled within a reasonable timeframe, a pro-rata refund will be offered for the missed sessions. We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule individual missed classes rather than cancel them.

Missed classes:

The course is delivered as a continuous programme and missed classes cannot be made up individually. Refunds are not available for classes you cannot attend.

Transfers:

Places are non-transferable to other people without prior agreement.

Statutory cancellation rights:

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, consumers purchasing services online generally have a 14-day cooling-off period during which they may cancel without giving a reason. However, courses booked through this website begin on a specific start date, and by completing your purchase you expressly agree that the cancellation terms set out above apply in place of this statutory 14-day right. This means that once you have booked, the refund schedule above is the applicable policy.

Course conduct

Courses are offered in a spirit of mutual respect and creative collaboration. Participants are expected to engage respectfully with other students and the tutor. Behaviour that is disruptive, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate may result in removal from the course without refund.

What is shared by participants during courses — particularly during exercises that involve personal disclosure — is treated as confidential. We ask all participants to honour the same principle.

Intellectual property

Course materials, handouts, exercises, and teaching methodologies remain the intellectual property of Sarah O’Toole and are provided for personal educational use only. They may not be reproduced, distributed, or used to teach others without prior written permission.

Work created by participants during courses remains the property of the participants.

Photos and recordings

Photographs or recordings of in-person classes are only made with the written consent of all participants, gathered in person at the start of the course. Participants may withdraw consent at any time.

Liability

While every reasonable care is taken in delivering courses, participation is at your own risk. You are responsible for informing the tutor of any health conditions, injuries, or access needs that may affect your participation, which is why we ask for this information at booking.

Public liability insurance is held for all in-person teaching activities.

We are not liable for personal belongings brought to in-person sessions.
